1) Condition the electron gun (30 mins)

2) Purge the gas line (10 mins)

3) Switch on wavefunction generators, oscilloscopes and amplifiers

4) Prepare LabView for controls with correct waveform files

5) Make sure the experiment timing is correct

6) Set the VAT valve to ensure correct gas pressure
